Brüning National Archaeological Museum
Inaugurated in 1966, the museum is the result of the long years of investigative work of the Peruvian artist Enrique Brünning. In the gardens, the imposing figure of Naylamp, founder of the dynasty of the lambayecanos Kings, stands out and the facade shows a colorful mural with also lambayecanos motifs.
More than 1,400 archaeological pieces are exhibited in various rooms; manifestations that represent the legacies of the Lambayeque, Moche, ChavÃn, Vicús Inca cultures, among others. The most important pieces date back more than 10,000 years.
Gold Room: You can see the remains of "The Lord of Sipán" along with the mortuary trousseau. The Gold Room displays up to 500 pieces that are true works of art.
Hans Heinrich Brüning Showroom: Located at the beginning of the tour. In this room the important archaeological and historical legacy of Hans Heinrich Brüning is exhibited throughout his work of 50 years of research. This exhibition discovers the true dimension of his life and work dedicated mainly to Lambayeque.
Multimedia Room: Corresponds to the preamble of the route and through a multimedia projection the visitor is sampled with the content of the museum, as well as the themes related to the region: culture, art, tradition, folklore.
Introductory Room: Area intended to give an overview of the general content through information panels.
Goldsmiths Hall. It shows the continuity of the Lambayecan culture in the Cotidana manifestations. You can see a ceramic workshop that bakes and reproduces techniques of 2,500 years old.
Room of Cultural Evolution of the North Region: The conservation and cultural continuity of techniques in music and dance, religion, curanderismo, oral tradition and Muchik language are highlighted.
